Knock hasn’t opened to the public yet. This page will take effect once it includes the legal name of who runs Knock, the company number, a postal address, a contact email address, the ICO registration number, where the database is hosted and the date these terms take effect.
Short, and not negotiable. Breaking them can get your account closed.
Nothing is for sale
No entry fees, no money on the door, no “donations”, no charging for drinks, no tickets. Charging where there’s alcohol or entertainment can need a licence, and the host is the one who can be prosecuted.
18+, and be yourself
Knock is for adults. Use your real first name and a photo of you. One account each. If you bring plus-ones, you’re responsible for them.
An address is a trust
If a host lets you in, you have their home address. Passing it on, screenshotting it into a group chat, or handing your pass to someone else gets you removed.
Hosts
- Only host where you’re allowed to, and with your housemates on board.
- Keep to your numbers, and look after your neighbours.
- No alcohol for anyone under 18, and no drugs.
- Be honest in your listing.
Guests
- Asking isn’t a right to come. Take a no or a maybe gracefully.
- Follow the house rules, respect the home, and leave when asked.
- Look after yourself and the people around you.
Never allowed
- Threats, harassment, bullying or stalking, on Knock or because of it.
- Sharing intimate or sexual images of anyone without their consent.
- Anything that sexualises children, in any way.
- Selling or offering drugs, weapons or anything else illegal.
- Hate: abuse aimed at anyone’s race, religion, sexuality, gender, disability or background.
- Scams, fake parties, or pretending to be someone else.
- Encouraging violence, terrorism, or anyone to hurt themselves.
If something’s wrong
In an emergency, call 999. Otherwise, use the report button on the party or request, and block anyone you don’t want to hear from. Reports come to us, never to the person you reported. You can also reach us through the contact page.
What happens next depends on what’s happened: a warning, content taken down, an address hidden, a suspension, or an account closed for good. Where the law requires it, or someone is at risk, we may share information with the police. If we act on your account and you think we got it wrong, you can ask us to look again. see section 13 of the terms.
